An Honours graduate of York University's Film Department, Michael is an award-winning Canadian screenwriter and producer.
His debut feature, the superhero-comedy SIDEKICK, played in numerous worldwide film festivals and was theatrically released in Canada before going on to sell in multiple international territories. His follow-up production, MAPLE FLAVOUR FILMS, an hour-long documentary on the current state of the Canadian film industry, which Michael also directed, screened in film festivals across Canada and is currently airing on Canadian PayTV.
In November 2010, Michael commenced photography on his second feature film, the workplace-comedy SERVITUDE. It's the first film to be developed through the new Telefilm Canada Features Comedy Lab to be greenlit for production. Maple Pictures will release the film in the fall of 2011.
When not writing and producing under his own production banner, Michael works with other independent filmmakers, often in a story editor or supervisory capacity. He has also served on numerous film festival juries and panels.
